前任の麻生機長は大変だった
外は100年に一度あるかという乱気流、機を保つのも精一杯だ
BAWもUSエアウェイも大きく高度を落とし、アイスランド航空は墜落した。バルト航空も助からないだろう
機長は旋回を続け、少しでもいい位置取りをしながら失速を防いだがそれでも高度を落としていく
一部の乗客が扇動する中、一人の男が私に機を任せるよう立ち上がった。乱気流のド中だが。
麻生機長の操縦でやっと危険空域を脱しようとしたとき、その男が乗客の圧倒的な支持の元、操縦桿を無理やり奪い取った
「私に一度任してみてほしい」

予想通り晴れる空
各国の航空機は今までの分を取り戻すように急上昇、バルト航空も生きていた。アイスランド航空は救助中
しかし一向に日本機だけは高度を落とし続ける。
右へ左へ舵を取り続けるがどんどん落ちる、乗客はなぜかと狼狽するばかり
飛行距離を稼ぐために貴重な燃料まで捨て始めた。驚く乗客、何を考えてるんだあの機長
しかしそれもそのはず、その男は機内アナウンスでこう言ったのだ

「飛行機というものがなんだかよく分からない」
